By Road

Directions from Johannesburg (400kms)

  • Take the N1 North from Johannesburg to Polokwane
  • Take the R71 from Polokwane to Tzaneen
  • Turn left at the T-junction at the bottom of the pass – R36 to Modjadjiskloof
  • After approx. 4 kms – take a right turn to Modjadji (left points to Politsi)
  • After approx. 5 kms, follow signs to Pimuju

 

Directions from Hoedspruit (100kms)

 

  • Take the R40 to Mica/Phalaborwa
  • Turn left on the R526 at the T-Junction ( 6km after Mica)
  • Drive 58km till you reach the next 4-way stop and go straight
  • Drive 12km till you reach the second 4-way stop turn right to Deerpark
  • Drive 30km, turn right to Modjadji
  • At the T-junction, turn left to Politsi.
  • Follow signs to Pimuju after 1km

 

Directions to Big 5 Chalet

From Johannesburg / Pretoria

  • Take the N12 from Johannesburg or the N4 from Pretoria to Witbank
  • Turn left at the Belfast turnoff and continue through the town
  • Take the R540 through Dullstroom to Lydenburg
  • Take the R36 through Origstad over the Abel Erasmus Pass
  • Continue on the R527 to Hoedspruit
  • Turn right onto the R40 to Klaserie
  • After 7 km take the first tarred road to the left (signage shows Eastgate Airport and Timbavati)
  •  Continue to the Timbavati Control Gate where you will be welcomed by your host and escorted to your chalet.

 

By Air

  • Daily flights available through SA Express from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit and four times a week from Cape Town into Hoedspruit’s Eastgate airport where you will be collected by your host.
